- Kapitel 14 -

(Mark 6:14–29; Luke 9:7–9)
1
At that time, Herod the tetrarch heard the report concerning Jesus,
2
and said to his servants, “This is John the Baptizer. He is risen from the dead. That is why these powers work in him.”
3
For Herod had arrested John, bound him, and put him in prison for the sake of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife.
4
For John said to him, “It is not lawful for you to have her.”
5
When he would have put him to death, he feared the multitude, because they counted him as a prophet.
6
But when Herod’s birthday came, the daughter of Herodias danced among them and pleased Herod.
7
Therefore he promised with an oath to give her whatever she should ask.
8
She, being prompted by her mother, said, “Give me here on a platter the head of John the Baptizer.”
9
The king was grieved, but for the sake of his oaths and of those who sat at the table with him, he commanded it to be given,
10
and he sent and beheaded John in the prison.
11
His head was brought on a platter and given to the young lady; and she brought it to her mother.
12
His disciples came, took the body, and buried it. Then they went and told Jesus.

The Feeding of the Five Thousand

(Mark 6:30–44; Luke 9:10–17; John 6:1–15)

Now when Jesus heard this, he withdrew from there in a boat to a deserted place apart. When the multitudes heard it, they followed him on foot from the cities.
14
Jesus went out, and he saw a great multitude. He had compassion on them and healed their sick.
15
When evening had come, his disciples came to him, saying, “This place is deserted, and the hour is already late. Send the multitudes away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves food.”
16
But Jesus said to them, “They don’t need to go away. You give them something to eat.”
17
They told him, “We only have here five loaves and two fish.”
18
He said, “Bring them here to me.”
19
He commanded the multitudes to sit down on the grass; and he took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, broke and gave the loaves to the disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitudes.
20
They all ate and were filled. They took up twelve baskets full of that which remained left over from the broken pieces.
21
Those who ate were about five thousand men, in addition to women and children.

Jesus Walks on Water

(Mark 6:45–52; John 6:16–21)

Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go ahead of him to the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.
23
After he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into the mountain by himself to pray. When evening had come, he was there alone.
24
But the boat was now in the middle of the sea, distressed by the waves, for the wind was contrary.
25
In the fourth watch of the night,(a) Jesus came to them, walking on the sea.(b)
26
When the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It’s a ghost!” and they cried out for fear.
27
But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Cheer up! It is I! (c) Don’t be afraid.”
28
Peter answered him and said, “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the waters.”
29
He said, “Come!” Peter stepped down from the boat and walked on the waters to come to Jesus.
30
But when he saw that the wind was strong, he was afraid, and beginning to sink, he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”
31
Immediately Jesus stretched out his hand, took hold of him, and said to him, “You of little faith, why did you doubt?”
32
When they got up into the boat, the wind ceased.
33
Those who were in the boat came and worshiped him, saying, “You are truly the Son of God!”

Jesus Heals at Gennesaret

(Mark 6:53–56)
34
When they had crossed over, they came to the land of Gennesaret.
35
When the people of that place recognized him, they sent into all that surrounding region and brought to him all who were sick;
36
and they begged him that they might just touch the fringe (d) of his garment. As many as touched it were made whole.

Johannes der Täufer wird enthauptet

(Markus 6,14-29; Lukas 9,7-9)

In jener Zeit vernahm Herodes, der Vierfürst, den Ruf von Jesus,

und er sprach zu seinen Dienern: Dies ist Johannes der Täufer; er ist von den Toten auferstanden, und darum wirken die Wunderkräfte in ihm.

Herodes nämlich hatte den Johannes ergreifen und fesseln lassen und in´s Gefängnis gesetzt wegen Herodias, der Frau seines Bruders.
4
Denn Johannes sagte zu ihm: Es ist dir nicht erlaubt, sie zu haben.
5
Und obgleich Willens ihn zu töten, fürchtete er das Volk, weil sie ihn für einen Propheten hielten.
6
An dem Geburtstage des Herodes aber tanzte die Tochter der Herodias in der Mitte, und sie gefiel dem Herodes.
7
Darum verhieß er ihr mit einem Eidschwure er wolle ihr geben, was sie immer von ihm begehren würde.
8
Sie aber, von ihrer Mutter angeleitet, sagte: Gib mir hier auf einer Schüssel das Haupt Johannes des Täufers!
9
Da ward der König betrübt; allein um des Eidschwures und derer willen, die mit zu Tische saßen, befahl er es zu geben.
10
Und er sandte hin und ließ Johannes im Kerker enthaupten.
11
Und sein Haupt ward auf einer Schüssel gebracht und dem Mädchen gegeben, und sie brachte es ihrer Mutter.
12
Und seine Jünger kamen herzu, nahmen seinen Leib, und bestatteten ihn; und kamen, um es Jesus zu melden.

Die Speisung der Fünftausend

(Markus 6,30-44; Lukas 9,10-17; Johannes 6,1-15)

Als nun Jesus dies vernommen, begab er sich von dort zu Schiff an einen öden Ort, allein; und als das Volk es erfuhr, folgte es ihm zu Fuße von den Städten.

Und da er hervorkam, sah er das viele Volk, und erbarmte sich über sie, und heilte ihre Kranken.
15
Als es aber Abend geworden war, traten seine Jünger zu ihm, und sprachen: Der Ort ist eine Wüste, und die Tageszeit ist vorüber; entlasse das Volk, dass es in die Ortschaften gehe und sich Speise kaufe.
16
Jesus aber sprach zu ihnen: Sie haben nicht nötig wegzugehen; gebet ihr ihnen zu essen!
17
Sie antworteten ihm: Wir haben hier nichts außer fünf Brote und zwei Fische.
18
Er sprach zu ihnen: Bringet sie mir hierher!
19
Nachdem er nun dem Volke befohlen hatte, sich auf den Rasen niederzulassen, nahm er die fünf Brote und die zwei Fische, blickte auf gen Himmel, segnete sie, brach die Brote, und gab sie den Jüngern, die Jünger aber gaben sie dem Volke.
20
Und sie aßen alle und wurden gesättigt. Und sie hoben auf, was von den Stücken übrig war, zwölf Körbe voll.
21
Die Zahl der Essenden aber war fünftausend Männer, ungerechnet Weiber und Kinder.

Jesus wandelt auf dem Meer

(Markus 6,45-52; Johannes 6,16-21)

Und allsogleich nötigte Jesus seine Jünger in das Schiff zu steigen, und vor ihm über den See zu fahren, bis er das Volk entlassen hätte.
23
Und nachdem er das Volk entlassen hatte, stieg er auf den Berg, um in der Einsamkeit zu beten; da es aber Abend geworden, war er allein daselbst.
24
Das Schiff aber wurde mitten auf dem Meere von den Wellen hin und her geworfen; denn der Wind war widrig.
25
In der vierten Nachtwache aber kam er zu ihnen, über das Meer hinwandelnd.
26
Und als sie ihn auf dem Meere wandeln sahen, entsetzten sie sich, und sprachen: Es ist ein Gespenst! Und sie schrien vor Furcht.
27
Sogleich aber redete Jesus sie an, und sprach: Habet Vertrauen, ich bin es! Fürchtet euch nicht!
28
Da antwortete ihm Petrus, und sprach: Herr, wenn du es bist, so heiße mich zu dir kommen über das Wasser hin.
29
Er aber sprach: Komm! Und Petrus stieg aus dem Schiffe, und ging auf dem Wasser, um zu Jesus zu kommen.
30
Als er aber den starken Wind sah, fürchtete er sich; und da er anfing zu sinken, rief er, und sprach: Herr! rette mich.
31
Alsbald streckte Jesus die Hand aus, ergriff ihn, und sprach zu ihm: Kleingläubiger! Warum hast du gezweifelt?
32
Und da sie in das Schiff getreten waren, legte sich der Wind.
33
Die aber im Schifflein waren, kamen und beteten ihn an, und sprachen: Wahrlich, du bist Gottes Sohn!

Viele berühren ihn und werden gesund

(Markus 6,53-56)

Und als sie hinübergefahren waren, kamen sie in die Landschaft Genesar.
35
Da nun die Leute dieses Ortes ihn erkannten, schickten sie in die ganze Umgegend, brachten alle Kranken zu ihm,
36
und baten ihn, nur den Saum seines Kleides berühren zu dürfen. Und alle, die denselben anrührten, wurden geheilt.
