A SONG OF THE ASCENTS. I have called You from the depths, YHWH.

Lord, listen to my voice, || Your ears are attentive to the voice of my supplications.

If You observe iniquities, Lord YAH, who stands?

But forgiveness [is] with You, that You may be feared.

I hoped [for] YHWH—my soul has hoped, || And I have waited for His word.

My soul [is] for the Lord, || More than those watching for morning, || Watching for morning!

Israel waits on YHWH, || For kindness [is] with YHWH, || And redemption [is] abundant with Him.

And He redeems Israel from all his iniquities!

Stufengesang. Aus der Tiefe rufe ich zu dir, o Herr!

Herr! erhöre meine Stimme! Lass deine Ohren aufmerken auf das Rufen meines Flehens!

Wenn du auf die Verschuldungen acht haben willst, Herr! o Herr! wer wird alsdann bestehen?

Doch bei dir ist Vergebung und um deines Gesetzes willen harre ich auf dich, o Herr! Meine Seele harrt auf sein Wort.

Meine Seele harrt auf den Herrn.

Von der Morgenwache bis zur Nacht hoffe Israel auf den Herrn,

denn bei dem Herrn ist Erbarmen und bei ihm ist überreiche Erlösung.

Und er wird Israel erlösen von aller seiner Sündenschuld.
