- Kapitel 36 -

(1 Chronicles 1:35–37)
1
And these [are] the generations of Esau, who [is] Edom.
2
Esau has taken his wives from the daughters of Canaan: Adah daughter of Elon the Hittite, and Aholibamah daughter of Anah, daughter of Zibeon the Hivite,
3
and Bashemath daughter of Ishmael, sister of Nebajoth.
4
And Adah bears to Esau, Eliphaz; and Bashemath has borne Reuel;
5
and Aholibamah has borne Jeush, and Jaalam, and Korah. These [are] sons of Esau, who were born to him in the land of Canaan.
6
And Esau takes his wives, and his sons, and his daughters, and all the persons of his house, and his livestock, and all his beasts, and all his substance which he has acquired in the land of Canaan, and goes into the country from the face of his brother Jacob;
7
for their substance was more abundant than to dwell together, and the land of their sojournings was not able to bear them because of their livestock;
8
and Esau dwells in Mount Seir: Esau is Edom.
9
And these [are] the generations of Esau, father of Edom, in Mount Seir.
10
These [are] the names of the sons of Esau: Eliphaz son of Adah, wife of Esau; Reuel son of Bashemath, wife of Esau.
11
And the sons of Eliphaz are Teman, Omar, Zepho, and Gatam, and Kenaz;
12
and Timnath has been concubine to Eliphaz son of Esau, and she bears to Eliphaz, Amalek; these [are] sons of Adah wife of Esau.
13
And these [are] sons of Reuel: Nahath and Zerah, Shammah and Mizzah; these were sons of Bashemath wife of Esau.
14
And these have been the sons of Aholibamah daughter of Anah, daughter of Zibeon, wife of Esau; and she bears to Esau, Jeush and Jaalam and Korah.
15
These [are] chiefs of the sons of Esau: sons of Eliphaz, firstborn of Esau: Chief Teman, Chief Omar, Chief Zepho, Chief Kenaz,
16
Chief Korah, Chief Gatam, Chief Amalek; these [are] chiefs of Eliphaz, in the land of Edom; these [are] sons of Adah.
17
And these [are] sons of Reuel son of Esau: Chief Nahath, Chief Zerah, Chief Shammah, Chief Mizzah; these [are] chiefs of Reuel, in the land of Edom; these [are] sons of Bashemath wife of Esau.
18
And these [are] sons of Aholibamah wife of Esau: Chief Jeush, Chief Jaalam, Chief Korah; these [are] chiefs of Aholibamah daughter of Anah, wife of Esau.
19
These [are] sons of Esau (who [is] Edom), and these their chiefs.

The Descendants of Seir

(1 Chronicles 1:38–42)
20
These [are] sons of Seir the Horite, the inhabitants of the land: Lotan, and Shobal, and Zibeon, and Anah,
21
and Dishon, and Ezer, and Dishan; these [are] chiefs of the Horites, sons of Seir, in the land of Edom.
22
And the sons of Lotan are Hori and Heman; and a sister of Lotan [is] Timna.
23
And these [are] sons of Shobal: Alvan and Manahath, and Ebal, Shepho and Onam.
24
And these [are] sons of Zibeon, both Ajah and Anah: it [is] Anah that has found the Imim in the wilderness, in his feeding the donkeys of his father Zibeon.
25
And these [are] sons of Anah: Dishon, and Aholibamah daughter of Anah.
26
And these [are] sons of Dishon: Hemdan, and Eshban, and Ithran, and Cheran.
27
These [are] sons of Ezer: Bilhan, and Zaavan, and Akan.
28
These [are] sons of Dishan: Uz and Aran.
29
These [are] chiefs of the Horite: Chief Lotan, Chief Shobal, Chief Zibeon, Chief Anah,
30
Chief Dishon, Chief Ezer, Chief Dishan: these [are] chiefs of the Horite in reference to their chiefs in the land of Seir.

The Kings of Edom

(1 Chronicles 1:43–54)
31
And these [are] the kings who have reigned in the land of Edom before the reigning of a king over the sons of Israel.
32
And Bela son of Beor reigns in Edom, and the name of his city [is] Dinhabah;
33
and Bela dies, and Jobab son of Zerah from Bozrah reigns in his stead;
34
and Jobab dies, and Husham from the land of the Temanite reigns in his stead.
35
And Husham dies, and Hadad son of Bedad reigns in his stead (who strikes Midian in the field of Moab), and the name of his city [is] Avith;
36
and Hadad dies, and Samlah of Masrekah reigns in his stead;
37
and Samlah dies, and Saul from Rehoboth of the River reigns in his stead;
38
and Saul dies, and Ba‘al-hanan son of Achbor reigns in his stead;
39
and Ba‘al-hanan son of Achbor dies, and Hadar reigns in his stead, and the name of his city [is] Pau; and his wife’s name [is] Mehetabel daughter of Matred, daughter of Me-zahab.
40
And these [are] the names of the chiefs of Esau, according to their families, according to their places, by their names: Chief Timnah, Chief Alvah, Chief Jetheth,
41
Chief Aholibamah, Chief Elah, Chief Pinon,
42
Chief Kenaz, Chief Teman, Chief Mibzar,
43
Chief Magdiel, Chief Iram: these [are] chiefs of Edom, in reference to their dwellings, in the land of their possession; he [is] Esau father of Edom.

Die Familie von Esau

Dies sind die Geschlechtsfolgen Esaus, welcher Edom ist.

Esau nahm sich Frauen von den Töchtern Chanaans: Ada, die Tochter des Hethiters Elon, und Oolibama, die Tochter Anas, der Tochter des Heviters Sebeons,

und Basemath, die Tochter Ismaels, die Schwester Nabaioths.
4
Ada aber gebar Eliphaz; Basemath gebar Rahuel;
5
Oolibama gebar Jehus und Ihelon und Kore. Das sind die Söhne Esaus, welche ihm im Land Chanaan geboren wurden.

Esau aber nahm seine Weiber, und Söhne und Töchter, und alle Seelen seines Hausstandes, seine Habe, sein Vieh, und alles, was er im Lande Chanaan hatte erwerben können, und zog in ein anderes Land, und schied von seinem Bruder Jakob.
7
Denn sie waren sehr reich und konnten nicht beieinander wohnen; und das Land, in dem sie als Fremdlinge weilten, reichte nicht für sie aus, wegen der Menge der Herden.
8
Und Esau nahm seinen Aufenthalt auf dem Gebirge Seir, Esau, er selbst ist Edom.
9
Dies aber sind die Geschlechter Esaus, des Vaters Edoms, auf dem Gebirge Seir,
10
und dies sind die Namen seiner Söhne: Eliphaz, der Sohn Adas, des Weibes Esaus; und Rahuel, der Sohn Basemaths, seines Weibes.
11
Und die Söhne des Eliphaz waren: Theman, Omar, Sepho, Gatham, und Kenez.
12
Thamna aber war eine Nebenfrau des Eliphaz, des Sohnes Esaus; diese gebar ihm Amalech. Das sind die Söhne Adas, des Weibes Esaus.
13
Die Söhne Rahuels aber sind: Nahath und Zara, Samma und Meza. Dies sind die Söhne Basemaths, des Weibes Esaus.
14
Und dies waren die Söhne Oolibamas, der Tochter Anas, der Tochter Sebeons, des Weibes Esaus, die sie ihm geboren: Jehus, Jhelon und Kore.

Dies sind die Fürsten der Söhne Esaus: Die Söhne des Eliphaz, des Erstgeborenen Esaus: der Fürst Theman, der Fürst Omar, der Fürst Sepho, der Fürst Kenez,

der Fürst Kore, der Fürst Gatham, der Fürst Amalech. Dies sind die Söhne des Eliphaz im Lande Edom, und dies sind die Söhne Adas.
17
Und dies sind die Söhne Rahuels, des Sohnes Esaus: der Fürst Nabath, der Fürst Zara, der Fürst Samma, der Fürst Meza; dies sind die Fürsten von Rahuel im Lande Edom; dies sind die Söhne Basemaths, des Weibes Esaus.
18
Und dies sind die Söhne Oolibamas, des Weibes Esaus: der Fürst Jehus, der Fürst Jhelon, der Fürst Kore; dies sind die Fürsten Oolibamas, der Tochter Anas, des Weibes Esaus.
19
Dies sind die Söhne Esaus und dies sind die Stammesfürsten; er selbst ist Edom.

Die Söhne von Seir

(1. Chronik 1,38-42)
20
Dies sind die Söhne Seirs, des Horriters, die Einwohner des Landes: Lotan, Sobal, Sebeon, Ana,
21
Dison, Eser und Disan. Dies sind die Fürsten der Horriter, der Söhne Seirs im Lande Edom.
22
Die Söhne Lotans aber waren: Hori und Heman; und die Schwester Lotans war Thamna.
23
Und dies sind die Söhne Sobals: Alvan, Manahat, Ebal, Sepho und Onam.
24
Und dies sind die Söhne Sebeons: Aja und Ana. Das ist derselbe Ana, welcher die heißen Quellen in der Wüste fand, als er die Esel seines Vaters Sebeon hütete;
25
er hatte einen Sohn Dison und eine Tochter Oolibama.
26
Und dies sind die Söhne Disons: Hamdan, Eseban, Jethram, und Charan.
27
Dies sind die Söhne Esers: Balaan, Zavan und Akan.
28
Disan aber hatte viele Söhne: Hus und Aram.
29
Dies sind die Fürsten der Horriter: der Fürst Lotan, der Fürst Sobal, der Fürst Sebeon, der Fürst Ana,
30
der Fürst Dison, der Fürst Eser, der Fürst Disan; dies sind die Fürsten der Horriter, die im Lande Seir geherrscht haben.

Die Könige von Edom

(1. Chronik 1,43-54)
31
Die Könige aber, die im Lande Edom geherrscht haben, ehe die Söhne Israels Könige hatten, waren diese:
32
Bela, der Sohn Beors, und seine Stadt hieß Denaba.
33
Als Bela starb, ward Jobab, der Sohn Zaras von Bosra, König an seiner Statt.
34
Als Jobab gestorben war, ward Husam, aus dem Lande der Themaniter, König an seiner Statt.
35
Als auch dieser gestorben war, wurde Adad, der Bruder Badads, König an seiner Statt, derselbe, der Madian auf dem Gefilde von Moab schlug; der Name seiner Stadt war Avith.
36
Als Ada gestorben war, ward Semla von Masreka König an seiner Statt.
37
Als auch dieser gestorben, herrschte Saul vom Flusse Rohoboth an seiner Statt.
38
Und als auch dieser gestorben, folgte in der Herrschaft Balanan, der Sohn Achobors.
39
Nach dessen Tod ward Adar König an seiner Statt, und der Name seiner Stadt war Phau; sein Weib hieß Meetabel, die Tochter Matreds, der Tochter Mezaabs.

Dies also sind die Namen der Fürsten Esaus, nach ihren Geschlechtern und Wohnplätzen, und Namen: der Fürst Thamna, der Fürst Alva, der Fürst Jetheth,

Der Fürst Oolibama, der Fürst Ela, der Fürst Phinon,
42
der Fürst Kenez, der Fürst Theman, der Fürst Mabsar,
43
der Fürst Magdiel, der Fürst Hiram; dies sind die Fürsten von Edom, welche im Lande ihrer Herrschaft wohnten, dies ist Esau, der Vater der Idumäer.
