- Kapitel 37 -

(Exodus 25:10–16)

Bezalel went on to construct the ark of acacia wood, two and a half cubits long, a cubit and a half wide, and a cubit and a half high.(a)

He overlaid it with pure gold, both inside and out, and made a gold molding around it.

And he cast four gold rings for its four feet, two rings on one side and two on the other.

Then he made poles of acacia wood and overlaid them with gold.

He inserted the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark in order to carry it.

The Mercy Seat

(Exodus 25:17–22)

He constructed a mercy seat of pure gold, two and a half cubits long and a cubit and a half wide.(b)

He made two cherubim of hammered gold at the ends of the mercy seat,

one cherub on one end and one on the other, all made from one piece of gold.

And the cherubim had wings that spread upward, overshadowing the mercy seat. The cherubim faced each other, looking toward the mercy seat.

The Table of Showbread

(Exodus 25:23–30; Leviticus 24:5–9)

He also made the table of acacia wood two cubits long, a cubit wide, and a cubit and a half high.(c)

He overlaid it with pure gold and made a gold molding around it.

And he made a rim around it a handbreadth wide (d) and put a gold molding on the rim.

He cast four gold rings for the table and fastened them to the four corners at its four legs.

The rings were placed close to the rim, to serve as holders for the poles used to carry the table.

He made the poles of acacia wood for carrying the table and overlaid them with gold.

He also made the utensils for the table out of pure gold: its plates and dishes, as well as its bowls and pitchers for pouring drink offerings.

The Lampstand

(Exodus 25:31–40; Numbers 8:1–4)

Then he made the lampstand out of pure hammered gold, all of one piece: its base and shaft, its cups, and its buds and petals.

Six branches extended from the sides, three on one side and three on the other.

There were three cups shaped like almond blossoms on the first branch, each with buds and petals, three on the next branch, and the same for all six branches that extended from the lampstand.

And on the lampstand were four cups shaped like almond blossoms with buds and petals.

A bud was under the first pair of branches that extended from the lampstand, a bud under the second pair, and a bud under the third pair.

The buds and branches were all of one piece with the lampstand, hammered out of pure gold.

He also made its seven lamps, its wick trimmers, and trays of pure gold.

He made the lampstand and all its utensils from a talent of pure gold.(e)

The Altar of Incense

(Exodus 30:1–10)

He made the altar of incense out of acacia wood. It was square, a cubit long, a cubit wide, and two cubits high.(f) Its horns were of one piece.

And he overlaid with pure gold the top and all the sides and horns. Then he made a molding of gold around it.

He made two gold rings below the molding on opposite sides to hold the poles used to carry it.

And he made the poles of acacia wood and overlaid them with gold.

He also made the sacred anointing oil and the pure, fragrant incense, the work of a perfumer.

Die Herstellung der Lade des Zeugnisses

(2. Mose 25,10-16)

Beseleel aber machte weiter die Lade aus Akazienholz, zwei und eine halbe Elle in der Länge, eine und eine halbe Elle in der Breite, und eine und eine halbe Elle in der Höhe; und er überzog sie innen und außen mit ganz reinem Golde.

Er brachte auch einen rundumlaufenden goldenen Kranz an ihr an,

und goss vier goldene Ringe für ihre vier Ecken: zwei Ringe für eine Seite, und zwei für die andere.

Sodann machte er Tragstangen von Akazienholz, überkleidete sie mit Gold,

und steckte sie in die Ringe, welche an den Seiten der Lade waren, damit diese getragen werden konnte.

(2. Mose 25,17-22)

Auch machte er den Gnadenthron, das ist die Spruchstätte, von feinstem Gold, zwei und eine halbe Elle in der Länge, und eine und eine halbe Elle in der Breite.

Ferner fertigte er zwei Cherubim aus Gold, in getriebener Arbeit und setzte sie zu beiden Seiten des Gnadenthrons,

einen Cherub an das Ende einer Seite, und den andern Cherub an das Ende der andern Seite; zwei Cherubim an die zwei Enden des Gnadenthrons,

ihre Flügel ausbreitend und den Gnadenthron bedeckend, einander zugekehrt und auf den Gnadenthron schauend.

Herstellung des Tisches für die Schaubrote

(2. Mose 25,23-30; 3. Mose 24,5-9)

Auch machte er den Tisch aus Akazienholz zwei Ellen lang, eine Elle breit, und eine und eine halbe Elle hoch;

und überzog ihn mit ganz reinem Golde, und brachte einen goldenen ringsum laufenden Rand an ihm an,

und an dem Rande einen vier Finger breiten durchbrochenen goldenen Kranz, und über derselben einen anderen goldenen Kranz.

Ferner goss er vier goldene Ringe, und setzte sie an die vier Ecken des Tisches, an jeden Fuß einen,

dicht an den Kranz; und steckte die Stangen in dieselben, damit der Tisch getragen werden konnte.

Die Tragstangen machte er gleichfalls aus Akazienholz, und überzog sie mit Gold.

Weiter die Geräte für verschiedene Verrichtungen am Tische, die Schüsseln und Schalen, und Becher, und Rauchfässer, in welchen Trankopfer dargebracht werden sollten, aus ganz reinem Golde.

Herstellung des goldenen Leuchters

(2. Mose 25,31-40; 4. Mose 8,1-4)

Darauf machte er den Leuchter, aus ganz reinem Golde, in getriebener Arbeit. Aus dem Schafte desselben kamen die Röhren, die Kelche, die Knäufe, und die Lilien hervor;

sechs Röhren auf beiden Seiten, drei Röhren auf einer Seite, und drei auf der andern;

drei nussförmige Kelche befanden sich an jedem Rohre, mit Knäufen und Lilien, und drei nussförmige Kelche an dem andern Rohre mit Knäufen und Lilien. So war die Arbeit der sechs Röhren, die aus dem Schafte des Leuchters hervorgingen, eine gleichförmige.

Am Schafte selbst aber befanden sich vier nussförmige Kelche, jeder mit Knäufen und Lilien;

und zwar kam jedes Mal ein Knauf unter jedem der drei Röhrenpaare der sechs Röhren, welche von einem Schafte ausgehen.

Die Knäufe also, ebenso wie die Röhren, kamen aus demselben hervor, alles in getriebener Arbeit aus reinstem Gold.

Sodann machte er auch die sieben Lampen mit ihren Lichtscheren, und die Gefäße, in denen das, was abgeputzt ist, ausgelöscht werden soll, aus ganz reinem Golde.

Ein Talent Goldes wog der Leuchter mit allen seinen Gerätschaften.

Herstellen des Räucheraltars

(2. Mose 30,1-10)

Weiter machte er den Räucheraltar aus Akazienholz, je eine Elle im Gevierte und zwei Ellen hoch; aus seinen Ecken sprangen Hörner hervor.

Und er überzog ihn mit reinstem Golde, auch die Platte und die Wände und die Hörner.

Alsdann brachte er einen ringsum laufenden kleinen goldenen Kranz an ihm an, und unterhalb des Kranzes zwei goldene Ringe auf jeder Seite, dass man die Stangen in dieselbe schieben, und so den Altar tragen konnte.

Die Stangen selbst machte er aus Akazienholz, und überzog sie mit Goldblech.

Herstellen des Salböls und des Weihrauchs

Sodann bereitete er das Öl zur Einweihungssalbe, und das Räucherwerk aus ganz reinen Spezereien, wie der Salbenbereiter es bereitet.
