- Kapitel 2 -

You have charmed me

The woman speaking to her lover-I am just a flower in a plain, just a lily in a valley. The man speaking to her-

As a lily is among thorns, so are you, my love, among the daughters of my countrymen. The woman speaking to herself-

As an apricot tree is among the trees of the forest, so is my beloved among the young men. I sit down under his shadow with great delight, and his fruit is sweet to my taste.

I am sick with love

He brought me to the banqueting hall, and his banner over me was love. The woman speaking to her lover-

Revive me with raisin cakes and refresh me with apricots, for I am weak with love. The woman speaking to herself-

His left hand is under my head, and his right hand embraces me. The woman speaking to the other women-

I want you to promise, daughters of Jerusalem, by the gazelles and the does of the fields, that you will not interrupt our lovemaking until it is over. The woman speaking to herself-

Spring is here!

The flowers have appeared in the land; the time for pruning and the singing of birds has come, and the sound of the doves is heard in our land.

The fig tree ripens her green figs, and the vines are in blossom; they give off their fragrance. Arise, my love, my beautiful one, and come away.

My dove, in the clefts of the rock, in the secret clefts of the mountain crags, let me see your face. Let me hear your voice, for your voice is sweet, and your face is lovely.” The woman speaking to herself-

Catch the jackals for us, the little jackals that spoil vineyards, for our vineyard is in blossom.

My beloved is mine, and I am his; he grazes among the lilies with pleasure. The woman speaking to her lover-

Go away, my beloved, before the soft winds of dawn blow and the shadows flee away. Go away; be like a gazelle or a young stag on the rugged mountains.

Du hast mich verzaubert

Ich bin eine Blume des Feldes und eine Lilie der Täler.

Wie eine Lilie unter den Dornen, so ist meine Freundin unter den Töchtern.

Gleichwie der Apfelbaum unter den Bäumen des Waldes, so ist mein Geliebter unter den Söhnen. Unter dem Schatten dessen, nach dem ich verlangte, sitze ich und seine Frucht ist meinem Gaumen süß.

Ich bin krank vor Liebe

Er führte mich in den Weinkeller und teilte mir die rechte Liebe mit.

Erquicket mich mit Blumen, gebet mir Äpfel zur Stärkung; denn ich bin krank vor Liebe!

Seine Linke unterstützt mein Haupt und seine Rechte hält mich umfasst.

Ich beschwöre euch, ihr Töchter Jerusalems! Bei den Rehen und Hirschen der Fluren, wecket nicht auf, erwecket nicht die Geliebte, bis sie selbst will.

Der Frühling ist da!

Die Stimme meines Geliebten! Siehe, da kommt er, springt einher über die Berge, hüpft in Eile über die Hügel.

Du bist einzigartig!

Mein Geliebter gleicht einer Gazelle und einem jungen Hirsche; siehe, schon steht er hinter unserer Wand, sieht durch die Fenster und schaut durch die Gitter.

Siehe, mein Geliebter spricht zu mir: Mache dich auf, eile meine Freundin, meine Taube, meine Schöne, und komm!

Denn schon ist der Winter vorüber, der Regen hat aufgehört und ist vergangen;

schon erscheinen die Blumen in unserem Lande, die Zeit ist gekommen, den Weinstock zu beschneiden, die Stimme der Turteltaube lässt sich in unserem Lande hören;

der Feigenbaum setzt seine Knoten an, die Weinberge blühen und hauchen ihren Duft. Mache dich auf, meine Freundin, meine Schöne, und komm!

Meine Taube in den Felsenklüften, in der Höhlung des Gesteins, lass mich dein Angesicht schauen, lass deine Stimme in meine Ohren tönen! denn deine Stimme ist süß und dein Angesicht hold.

Fanget uns die kleinen Füchse, welche die Weinberge verwüsten; denn unser Weinberg steht in der Blüte.

Mein Geliebter ist mein und ich bin sein; der unter den Lilien weidet,

bis der Tag sich kühlt und die Schatten sich neigen. Kehre um, mein Geliebter! Sei gleich dem Reh und dem jungen Hirschen auf den Bergen Bethers.
