- Kapitel 63 -

Thirsty for God

(2 Samuel 15:30-37)
1
A psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah. God, you are my God! I earnestly search for you, my soul thirsts for you, and my flesh longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water.
2
So I have looked on you in the holy people to see your power and your glory.
3
Because your covenant faithfulness is better than life, my lips will praise you.
4
So I will bless you while I live; I will lift up my hands in your name.
5
It will be as if I ate a meal of marrow and fatness; with joyful lips my mouth will praise you,
6
when I think about you on my bed and meditate on you in the night hours.
7
For you have been my help, and in the shadow of your wings I rejoice.
8
I cling to you; your right hand supports me.
9
But those who seek to destroy my life will go down into the lowest parts of the earth;
10
they will be given over to those whose hands use the sword, and they will become food for the jackals.
11
But the king will rejoice in God; everyone who swears by him will be proud of him, but the mouth of those who speak lies will be stopped up.

Durstig nach Gott

(2. Samuel 15,30-37)

Ein Psalm Davids, als er in der Wüste von Idumäa war.
2
O Gott, mein Gott! zu dir erwache ich früh, es dürstet nach dir meine Seele, wie sehr schmachtet nach dir mein Fleisch.
3
Im wüsten, unzugänglichen und wasserlosen Lande, so erscheine ich vor dir im Heiligtume, um deine Macht und deine Herrlichkeit zu schauen.
4
Denn deine Barmherzigkeit ist besser als das Leben. Meine Lippen sollen dich loben.
5
Also will ich dich preisen mein Leben lang und in deinem Namen meine Hände erheben.
6
Wie an Mark und Fett ersättige sich meine Seele, mein Mund soll mit jubelnden Lippen dich preisen.
7
Gedenke ich deiner auf meinem Lager, so sinne ich noch am Morgen über dich,
8
denn du bist mein Helfer. Und im Schatten deiner Flügel will ich jubeln,
9
dir hängt meine Seele an, deine Rechte hält mich aufrecht.
10
Sie aber trachten mir vergebens nach dem Leben, sie werden hinabfahren in die Tiefen der Erde,
11
werden der Gewalt des Schwertes preisgegeben, eine Beute der Füchse werden.
12
Der König aber wird sich Gottes freuen, es rühmen sich alle, die bei ihm schwören, denn der Mund derer, die Gottloses reden, ist verstopft.
