- Kapitel 27 -

Now the children of Israel after their number, the heads of fathers’ households and the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and their officers who served the king in any matter of the divisions which came in and went out month by month throughout all the months of the year—of every division were twenty-four thousand.

Over the first division for the first month was Jashobeam the son of Zabdiel. In his division were twenty-four thousand.

He was of the children of Perez, the chief of all the captains of the army for the first month.

Over the division of the second month was Dodai the Ahohite and his division, and Mikloth the ruler; and in his division were twenty-four thousand.

The third captain of the army for the third month was Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada the chief priest. In his division were twenty-four thousand.

This is that Benaiah who was the mighty man of the thirty and over the thirty. Of his division was Ammizabad his son.

The fourth captain for the fourth month was Asahel the brother of Joab, and Zebadiah his son after him. In his division were twenty-four thousand.

The fifth captain for the fifth month was Shamhuth the Izrahite. In his division were twenty-four thousand.

The sixth captain for the sixth month was Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite. In his division were twenty-four thousand.
10
The seventh captain for the seventh month was Helez the Pelonite, of the children of Ephraim. In his division were twenty-four thousand.
11
The eighth captain for the eighth month was Sibbecai the Hushathite, of the Zerahites. In his division were twenty-four thousand.
12
The ninth captain for the ninth month was Abiezer the Anathothite, of the Benjamites. In his division were twenty-four thousand.
13
The tenth captain for the tenth month was Maharai the Netophathite, of the Zerahites. In his division were twenty-four thousand.
14
The eleventh captain for the eleventh month was Benaiah the Pirathonite, of the children of Ephraim. In his division were twenty-four thousand.
15
The twelfth captain for the twelfth month was Heldai the Netophathite, of Othniel. In his division were twenty-four thousand.

The Leaders of the Twelve Tribes

Furthermore over the tribes of Israel: of the Reubenites, Eliezer the son of Zichri was the ruler; of the Simeonites, Shephatiah the son of Maacah;

of Levi, Hashabiah the son of Kemuel; of Aaron, Zadok;

of Judah, Elihu, one of the brothers of David; of Issachar, Omri the son of Michael;
19
of Zebulun, Ishmaiah the son of Obadiah; of Naphtali, Jeremoth the son of Azriel;
20
of the children of Ephraim, Hoshea the son of Azaziah; of the half-tribe of Manasseh, Joel the son of Pedaiah;
21
of the half-tribe of Manasseh in Gilead, Iddo the son of Zechariah; of Benjamin, Jaasiel the son of Abner;
22
of Dan, Azarel the son of Jeroham. These were the captains of the tribes of Israel.

But David didn’t take the number of them from twenty years old and under, because the LORD had said he would increase Israel like the stars of the sky.
24
Joab the son of Zeruiah began to take a census, but didn’t finish; and wrath came on Israel for this. The number wasn’t put into the account in the chronicles of King David.

David’s Various Overseers

25
Over the king’s treasures was Azmaveth the son of Adiel. Over the treasures in the fields, in the cities, in the villages, and in the towers was Jonathan the son of Uzziah;

Over those who did the work of the field for tillage of the ground was Ezri the son of Chelub.

Over the vineyards was Shimei the Ramathite. Over the increase of the vineyards for the wine cellars was Zabdi the Shiphmite.

Over the olive trees and the sycamore trees that were in the lowland was Baal Hanan the Gederite. Over the cellars of oil was Joash.

Over the herds that fed in Sharon was Shitrai the Sharonite. Over the herds that were in the valleys was Shaphat the son of Adlai.

Over the camels was Obil the Ishmaelite. Over the donkeys was Jehdeiah the Meronothite. Over the flocks was Jaziz the Hagrite.

All these were the rulers of the property which was King David’s.

The Counselors

Also Jonathan, David’s uncle, was a counselor, a man of understanding, and a scribe. Jehiel the son of Hachmoni was with the king’s sons.

Ahithophel was the king’s counselor. Hushai the Archite was the king’s friend.
34
After Ahithophel was Jehoiada the son of Benaiah, and Abiathar. Joab was the captain of the king’s army.

Und die Söhne Israels nach ihrer Zahl, die Familienhäupter, die Obersten und Hauptleute und die Amtleute, welche dem Könige nach ihren Abteilungen dienten, antretend und abziehend, Monat um Monat im Jahre, waren ein jeder über vierundzwanzigtausend gesetzt.

Über die erste Abteilung im ersten Monat war Jesboam, der Sohn Zabdiels, gesetzt und unter ihm standen vierundzwanzigtausend.

Er gehörte zu den Söhnen Phares und war das Oberhaupt aller Führer der Schar im ersten Monat.

Die Abteilung des zweiten Monats hatte Dudia, der Ahohiter, und nach ihm war ein anderer, mit Namen Makelloth, der einen Teil des Heeres von vierundzwanzigtausend befehligte.
5
Der Anführer der dritten Abteilung im dritten Monat war Banajas, der Sohn Jojadas, der Priester; in seiner Abteilung waren vierundzwanzigtausend.
6
Dieser Banajas war ein Recke von den dreißig und über die dreißig; seine Abteilung führte sein Sohn Amizabad.
7
Der vierte, für den vierten Monat, war Asahel, der Bruder Joabs, und sein Sohn Zabadias nach ihm; zu seiner Abteilung gehörten vierundzwanzigtausend.
8
Der fünfte, für den fünften Monat, war der Fürst Samaoth, der Jezeriter; zu seiner Abteilung gehörten vierundzwanzigtausend.
9
Der sechste, für den sechsten Monat, war Hira, der Sohn Akkes, der Thekuiter; zu seiner Abteilung gehörten vierundzwanzigtausend.
10
Der siebte, für den siebten Monat, war Helles, der Phalloniter, von den Söhnen Ephraims; zu seiner Abteilung gehörten vierundzwanzigtausend.
11
Der achte, für den achten Monat, war Sobochai, der Husathiter, vom Geschlechte Zarahi; zu seiner Abteilung gehörten vierundzwanzigtausend.
12
Der neunte, für den neunten Monat, war Abiezer, der Anathothiter, von den Söhnen Jeminis; zu seiner Abteilung gehörten vierundzwanzigtausend.
13
Der zehnte, für den zehnten Monat, war Marai, auch ein Netophathiter, vom Geschlechte Zarai; zu seiner Abteilung gehörten vierundzwanzigtausend.
14
Der elfte, für den elften Monat, war Banajas, der Pharathoniter, von den Söhnen Ephraims; zu seiner Abteilung gehörten vierundzwanzigtausend.
15
Der zwölfte, für den zwölften Monat, war Holdai, der Netophatiter, vom Geschlechte Gothoniel; zu seiner Abteilung gehörten vierundzwanzigtausend.

Anführer der Stämme

Über die Stämme Israel waren gesetzt: Als Fürst über die Rubeniter Eliezer, der Sohn Zechris; als Fürst über die Simeoniter Saphatias, der Sohn Maachas;

über die Leviten Hasabias, der Sohn Kamuels; über die Aaroniten Sadok;
18
über Juda Eliu, der Bruder Davids; über Issachar Amri, der Sohn Michaels;
19
über die Zabuloniter Jesmajas, der Sohn Abdias; über die Nephthaliter Jerimoth, der Sohn Ozriels;
20
über die Söhne Ephraims Osee, der Sohn Ozazius; über den halben Stamm Manasse Joel, der Sohn Phadajas,
21
und über den halben Stamm Manasse in Galaad Jaddo, der Sohn Zacharias; über Benjamin aber Jasiel, der Sohn Abners,
22
und über Dan Ezrihel, der Sohn Jerohams; das sind die Fürsten der Söhne Israels.

David aber hatte die Bevölkerung von zwanzig Jahren und darunter nicht zählen wollen; denn der Herr hatte verheißen, Israel zu mehren wie die Sterne des Himmels.
24
Joab, der Sohn Sarvias, hatte angefangen zu zählen, aber nicht geendet; denn ein Zorngericht kam deswegen über Israel und darum wurde die Zahl derer, welche gemustert waren, nicht in die Jahrbücher des Königs David eingetragen.

Andere Staatsbeamte

Die Schätze des Königs verwaltete Azmoth, der Sohn Adiels, und die Schätze, welche in den Städten und Dörfern und Türmen waren, Jonathan, der Sohn Ozias.

Die Feldarbeit und die Ackerleute, die das Land bebauten, beaufsichtigte Ezri, der Sohn Chelubs.
27
und die Weingärtner Semejas, der Romathiter; die Weinkeller aber Zabdias, der Aphoniter.
28
Die Ölgärten und Feigenbäume nämlich, die in den Ebenen waren, beaufsichtigte Balanan, der Gederiter; über die Ölbehältnisse aber war Joas gesetzt.
29
Die Aufsicht über die Rinder, welche auf Saron weideten, hatte Setrai, der Saroniter; und über die Rinder in den Tälern Saphat, der Sohn Adlis;
30
über die Kamele aber die Ismaheliter Ubil; über die Esel der Meronathiter Jadias
31
und über die Schafe der Agariter Jaziz. Diese alle waren Verwalter des Besitzes des Königs David.
32
Jonathan aber, der Oheim Davids, ein weiser und gelehrter Mann, war Ratgeber; er und Jahiel, der Sohn Hachamonis, waren bei den Söhnen des Königs.
33
Achitophel war gleichfalls Ratgeber des Königs und Chusai, der Arachiter, der Vertraute des Königs.
34
Nach Achitophel war es Jojada, der Sohn Banajas und Abiathar. Feldherr des Königs aber war Joab.
