- Kapitel 43 -

Afterward he brought me to the gate, euen the gate that turneth towarde the East.

And beholde, the glorie of the God of Israel came from out of the East, whose voyce was like a noyse of great waters, and the earth was made light with his glorie.

And the vision which I saw was like the vision, euen as the vision that I sawe when I came to destroy the citie: and the visions were like the vision that I sawe by the riuer Chebar: and I fell vpon my face.

And the glorie of the Lord came into the house by the way of the gate, whose prospect is towarde the East.

So the Spirite tooke me vp and brought me into the inner court, and beholde, the glorie of the Lord filled the house.

And I heard one speaking vnto me out of the house: and there stoode a man by me,

Which saide vnto me, Sonne of man, this place is my throne, and the place of the soles of my feete, whereas I will dwell among the children of Israel for euer, and the house of Israel shall no more defile mine holy Name, neither they, nor their Kings by their fornication, nor by the carkeises of their Kings in their high places.

Albeit they set their thresholdes by my thresholdes, and their postes by my postes (for there was but a wall betweene me and them) yet haue they defiled mine holy Name with their abominations, that they haue committed: wherfore I haue consumed them in my wrath.

Now therefore let them put away their fornication, and the carkeises of their Kings farre from me, and I will dwell among them for euer.

Thou sonne of man, shew this House to the house of Israel, that they may be ashamed of their wickednes, and let them measure ye paterne.

And if they be ashamed of all that they haue done, shew them the forme of the House, and ye paterne thereof, and the going out thereof, and the coming in thereof, and the whole fashion thereof, and all the ordinances thereof, and all the figures thereof, and all the lawes thereof: and write it in their sight, that they may keepe the whole fashion thereof, and all the ordinances thereof, and do them.

This is the description of the house, It shalbe vpon the toppe of the mount: all the limites thereof round about shalbe most holy. Beholde, this is the description of the house.

The Altar of Sacrifice

And these are the measures of the Altar, after the cubites, the cubite is a cubite, and an had breadth, euen the bottome shalbe a cubite, and the breadth a cubite, and the border thereof by the edge thereof rounde about shalbe a spanne: and this shalbe the height of the altar.

And from the bottome which toucheth the ground to the lower piece shalbe two cubites: and the breadth one cubite, and from the litle piece to the great piece shalbe foure cubites, and the breadth one cubite.

So the altar shalbe foure cubites, and from the altar vpward shalbe foure hornes.

And the altar shalbe twelue cubites long, and twelue broade, and fouresquare in the foure corners thereof.

And ye frame shalbe foureteene cubites log, and fourteene broade in the fouresquare corners thereof, and the border about it shalbe halfe a cubite, and the bottome therof shalbe a cubite about, and the steps thereof shalbe turned towarde ye East.

And he said vnto me, Sone of man, thus saith ye Lord God, These are ye ordinances of ye altar in the day when they shall make it to offer the burnt offring thereon, and to sprinkle blood thereon.

And thou shalt giue to the Priestes, and to the Leuites, that be of the seede of Zadok, which approch vnto me, to minister vnto me, saith the Lord God, a yong bullocke for a sinne offring.

And thou shalt take of the blood thereof, and put it on the foure hornes of it, and on the foure corners of the frame, and vpon the border round about: thus shalt thou clense it, and reconcile it.

Thou shalt take the bullocke also of the sinne offring, and burne it in the appointed place of the house without the Sanctuarie.

But the second day thou shalt offer an hee goat without blemish for a sinne offring, and they shall clense ye altar, as they did clense it with the bullocke.

When thou hast made an ende of clensing it, thou shalt offer a yong bullocke without blemish, and a ram out of the flocke without blemish.

And thou shalt offer them before ye Lord, and the Priestes shall cast salt vpon them, and they shall offer them for a burnt offring vnto ye Lord.

Seuen dayes shalt thou prepare euery day an hee goate for a sinne offring: they shall also prepare a yong bullocke and a ramme out of the flocke, without blemish.

Thus shall they seuen dayes purifie the altar, and clense it, and consecrate it.

And when these dayes are expired, vpon the eight day and so forth, the Priests shall make your burnt offrings vpon the altar, and your peace offrings, and I will accept you, saith the Lord God.

Der Tempel, die Wohnstätte des HERRN

Und er führte mich zu dem Tore, das gegen Morgen liegt.

Siehe, da nahte die Herrlichkeit des Gottes Israels von der Morgenseite her und Brausen gleich dem Brausen mächtiger Wasser und die Erde erglänzte von seiner Herrlichkeit.

Und ich sah eine Erscheinung gleich jener, welche ich gesehen, als er kam, die Stadt zu verderben; der Anblick war jener Erscheinung gleich, die ich am Flusse Chobar geschaut, und ich fiel nieder auf mein Angesicht.

Und die Herrlichkeit des Herrn zog in den Tempel ein auf dem Wege des gegen Morgen gerichteten Tores.

Da hob mich der Geist empor und brachte mich in den innern Vorhof und siehe, das Haus war von der Herrlichkeit des Herrn erfüllt.

Und ich hörte jemanden von dem Hause her zu mir reden und der Mann, welcher bei mir stand,

sprach zu mir: Menschensohn! dies ist die Stätte meines Thrones und der Ort, wo meine Füße ruhen, wo ich inmitten der Söhne Israels ewiglich wohne, und das Haus Israel soll hinfort meinen heiligen Namen nicht mehr entweihen, weder sie noch ihre Könige, durch ihre Buhlereien, durch das Verderbnis ihrer Könige und durch ihre Höhen.

Denn sie setzten ihre Schwellen an meine Schwellen und ihre Pfosten an meine Pfosten, so dass nur eine Wand zwischen mir und ihnen war, und sie schändeten meinen heiligen Namen durch die Greuel, die sie verübten, deshalb habe ich sie in meinem Zorne vertilgt.

Nunmehr also werden sie ihre Buhlerei und die Verderbnisse ihrer Könige von mir fernhalten und ich will auf immer unter ihnen wohnen.

Du aber, o Menschensohn! zeige dem Hause Israel den Tempel, damit sie sich ihrer Verschuldung schämen; sie sollen das ganze Gebäude nachmessen

und sollen erröten über alles, was sie getan. Zeige ihnen die Gestalt des Hauses und an seinem Bau die Eingänge und Ausgänge, seine ganze Beschreibung, alles eine Vorschriften, seine ganze Anordnung, alle seine Gesetze, und schreibe es vor ihren Augen nieder, damit sie seine ganze Gestalt und alle Vorschriften desselben bewahren und sie ausführen.

Das ist die Anordnung des Hauses auf der Höhe des Berges: Sein ganzes Gebiet ringsumher ist hochheilig, dies also ist die Anordnung des Hauses.

Dimensionen des Altars

Dies aber sind die Maße des Altars nach der guten Elle, welche um eine Spanne mehr misst. Seine Vertiefung war eine Elle hoch und eine Elle breit und der Kranz bis zu seiner Kante, und zwar ringsum war eine Spanne breit und dies war auch der Grund des Altars.

Von der Vertiefung des Bodens bis zum unten Absatz waren zwei Ellen und die Breite eine Elle, vom kleinern bis zum größern Absatz waren vier Ellen und die Breite wieder eine Elle.

Der Herd aber war vier Ellen hoch und vom Herde gingen nach oben die vier Hörner.

Der Herd hatte zwölf Ellen in der Länge und zwölf Ellen in der Breite, ein gleichseitiges Viereck.

Der Absatz war vierzehn Ellen lang und vierzehn Ellen breit an allen vier Seiten und eine Einfassung ging ringsherum, eine halbe Elle hoch, und die Vertiefung betrug eine Elle ringsum; seine Stufen aber waren gegen Morgen gerichtet.

Die Einweihung des Altars

Und er sprach zu mir: Menschensohn! so spricht der Herr, Gott: Dies sind die Verordnungen für den Altar, zur Zeit, wo er hergerichtet ist, damit man Brandopfer auf ihm darbringe und Blut auf ihm ausgieße.

Den Priestern aus dem Stamme Levi und der Familie Sadok, die mir nahen, spricht der Herr, Gott, sollst du ein junges Rind von der Herde geben, dass sie es mir als Sündopfer darbringen.

Nimm alsdann etwas von dessen Blute und sprenge es an seine vier Hörner, an die vier Ecken des Absatzes ringsherum, und so reinige ihn und sühne ihn.

Sodann nimm das Rind, welches als Sündopfer dargebracht ward, und verbrenne es an einem abgesonderten Orte beim Hause außerhalb des Heiligtums.

Am zweiten Tage aber bringe einen Ziegenbock, der ohne Fehl ist, als Sündopfer dar, um den Altar zu entsühnen, wie er mit dem Rinde entsühnt ward.

Und wenn du mit der Entsühnung zu Ende bist, so bringe ein fehlloses junges Rind und einen fehllosen Widder von der Herde dar.

Diese opfere vor dem Angesichte des Herrn und die Priester sollen Salz auf dieselben streuen und sie dem Herrn zum Brandopfer darbringen.

Sieben Tage sollst du täglich einen Bock als Sündopfer darbringen, auch ein junges Rind und einen Widder von der Herde, beide seien ohne Fehl.

Sieben Tage lang soll man den Altar entsühnen und reinigen und einweihen.

Und wenn diese Tage um sind, sollen die Priester am achten Tage und weiterhin eure Brandopfer und was man als Friedopfer darbringt, auf dem Altare opfern; so werde ich euch huldreich werden, spricht der Herr, Gott.
