- Kapitel 15 -

(Judges 5:1–31)

Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song vnto the Lord, and sayd in this maner, I will sing vnto the Lord: for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and him that rode vpon him hath he ouerthrowen in the Sea.

The Lord is my strength and praise, and he is become my saluation. He is my God, and I will prepare him a tabernacle. he is my fathers God, and I will exalt him.

The Lord is a man of warre, his Name is Iehouah.

Pharaohs charets and his host hath he cast into the Sea: his chosen captaines also were drowned in the red Sea.

The depths haue couered them, they sanke to the bottome as a stone.

Thy right hande, O Lord, is glorious in power: thy right hand, O Lord, hath brused the enemie.

And in thy great glorie thou hast ouerthrowen them that rose against thee: thou sentest forth thy wrath, which consumed them as the stubble.

And by the blast of thy nostrels the waters were gathered, the floods stoode still as an heape, the depthes congealed together in the heart of the Sea.

The enemie sayd, I wil pursue, I wil ouertake them, I will deuide the spoyle, my lust shall bee satisfied vpon them, I will drawe my sworde, mine hand shall destroy them.

Thou blewest with thy winde, the Sea couered them, they sanke as leade in the mightie waters.

Who is like vnto thee, O Lord, among the Gods! who is like thee so glorious in holinesse, fearefull in prayses, doing wonders!

Thou stretchedst out thy right hande, the earth swallowed them.

Thou wilt by thy mercie cary this people, which thou deliueredst: thou wilt bring them in thy strength vnto thine holy habitation.

The people shall heare and be afraide: sorow shall come vpon the inhabitants of Palestina.

Then the dukes of Edom shalbe amased, and trembling shall come vpon the great men of Moab: all the inhabitantes of Canaan shall waxe faint hearted.

Feare and dread shall fall vpon them: because of the greatnesse of thine arme, they shalbe stil as a stone, till thy people passe, O Lord: til this people passe, which thou hast purchased.

Thou shalt bring them in, and plant them in the mountaine of thine inheritance, which is the place that thou hast prepared, O Lord, for to dwell in, euen the sanctuarie, O Lord, which thine hands shall establish.

The Lord shall reigne for euer and euer.

For Pharaohs horses went with his charets and horsemen into the Sea, and the Lord brought the waters of the Sea vpon them: but the children of Israel went on drie land in the middes of the Sea.

And Miriam the prophetesse, sister of Aaron tooke a timbrell in her hande, and all the women came out after her with timbrels and daunces.

And Miriam answered the men, Sing yee vnto the Lord: for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath hee ouerthrowen in the Sea.

The Waters of Marah

Then Moses brought Israel from the redde Sea, and they went out into the wildernesse of Shur: and they went three dayes in the wildernesse, and found no waters.

And whe they came to Marah, they could not drinke of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of the place was called Marah.

Then the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drinke?

And he cried vnto the Lord, and the Lord shewed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were sweete: there he made them an ordinance and a law, and there he proued them,

And sayd, if thou wilt diligently hearken, O Israel, vnto the voyce of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that, which is right in his sight, and wilt giue eare vnto his commandements, and keepe all his ordinances, then will I put none of these diseases vpon thee, which I brought vpon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee.

And they came to Elim, where were twelue fountaines of water, and seuentie palme trees, and they camped thereby the waters.

Das Lied des Mose

(Richter 5,1-31)

Da sangen Moses und die Söhne Israels dem Herrn dieses Lied und sprachen also: Lasset uns dem Herrn lobsingen; denn glorreich hat er sich herrlich erwiesen, Rosse und Reiter hat er in´s Meer gestürzt.

Meine Stärke und mein Lobpreis ist der Herr, denn er ward mir zum Heile. Er ist mein Gott, ihn will ich preisen; der Gott meines Vaters, ihn will ich hocherheben.

Der Herr ist wie ein Kriegsheld, Allmächtiger ist sein Name.

Die Wagen Pharaos und sein Heer hat er in das Meer gestürzt, seine auserlesenen Fürsten sind versunken im roten Meere.

Abgründe bedeckten sie, sie sanken in die Tiefe wie ein Stein.

Deine Rechte, o Herr, ward verherrlicht in Macht; deine Rechte, o Herr, schlug den Feind.

In der Fülle deiner Herrlichkeit stürztest du deine Widersacher; du entsandtest deinen Grimm, der sie verzehrte wie Stoppeln.

Durch den Hauch deines Grimmes türmten sich auf die Gewässer; es stand die flüssige Welle aufrecht, es türmten sich die Fluten mitten im Meere.

Es sprach der Feind: ich will nachsetzen und sie ergreifen, will Beute austeilen und des Herzens Begier erfüllen, ich will mein Schwert ziehen, sie töten mit meiner Hand.

Da wehte dein Hauch, und es bedeckte sie das Meer; sie versanken wie Blei in den mächtigen Fluten.

Wer ist dir gleich unter den Starken, o Herr? Wer dir gleich, so herrlich in Heiligkeit, so furchtbar und preiswürdig, Wunder verrichtend?

Du strecktest deine Hand aus, und die Erde verschlang sie.

Du führtest in Erbarmen das Volk, das du erlöst hast, und geleitetest es mit deiner Macht zu deiner heiligen Wohnung.

Es erhoben sich die Völker und sind ergrimmt; Wehe ergriff die Bewohner Philistäas.

Da wurden die Fürsten Edoms bestürzt, die Starken Moabs erfasste Schrecken; es erstarrten alle Bewohner Chanaans.

Es falle auf sie Furcht und Grauen ob der Kraft deines Armes; sie mögen erstarren wie Stein, bis hindurchgezogen dein Volk, o Herr, bis hindurchgezogen dies dein Volk, das du erworben.

Du wirst sie hinführen und pflanzen auf den Berg deines Erbes, in deine feste Wohnung, die du, o Herr, bereitet, als dein Heiligtum, o Herr, das deine Hände gefestigt haben.

Der Herr wird herrschen ewig und immerdar.

Denn es zogen die Reisigen Pharaos und seine Wagen und Reiter in´s Meer; und der Herr führte über sie die Wasser des Meeres; die Söhne Israels aber zogen im Trockenen mitten durch das Meer hindurch.

Das Lied der Mirjam

Da nahm Maria, die Prophetin, die Schwester Aarons, die Pauke in ihre Hand, und alle Frauen folgten ihr mit Pauken und in Reigen,

und sie sang ihnen vor und sprach: Lasset uns dem Herrn Lob singen; denn glorreich hat er sich verherrlicht, Rosse und Reiter hat er in´s Meer gestürzt.

Bittere Wasser werden süß

Moses aber ließ Israel vom roten Meere aufbrechen, und sie kamen in die Wüste Sur und zogen drei Tage durch die Wüste, ohne Wasser zu finden.

Da kamen sie nach Mara; aber sie konnten das Wasser von Mara nicht trinken, weil es bitter war; deshalb gab er dem Orte einen passenden Namen und nannte ihn Mara, das ist Bitterkeit.

Und das Volk murrte wider Moses und sprach: Was sollen wir trinken?

Er aber rief zum Herrn, und dieser zeigte ihm ein Holz; als er dieses in das Wasser warf, ward es süß. Daselbst gab Gott dem Volke Gebote und Rechte und dort prüfte er es,

indem er sprach: Wenn du auf die Stimme des Herrn, deines Gottes, hörst, und tust, was vor ihm recht ist, und seinen Geboten gehorchst, und alle seine Vorschriften beobachtest, so will ich keine der Krankheiten, welche ich auf Ägypten habe kommen lassen, über dich verhängen, denn ich, der Herr, werde dein Arzt sein.

Die Söhne Israels aber kamen nach Elim, wo zwölf Wasserquellen und siebzig Palmbäume waren; und sie lagerten sich am Wasser.
